About Us
Our story
“Every day at dawn, my mother would put a coffin on her head and walk to our family orchard at Mesogi. An hour later she would be back bringing home a treasure of summer fruits. As soon as my brother and I woke up, we would find the table set, full of juicy, sweet, and flavorful fruits.
During winter the treasure was olives and olive oil. Our family orchard provided the olive oil of the year. I remember my father climbing on the olive trees in no time, shaking the tree branches with a small stick. The olives would fall like rain and mother would pick them up by hand. In the evening, they would load our donkey and return home tired but thankful for the bounties this blessed land provided.
In this favorite orchard of my childhood, my children have created four modern and stylish villas that blend within the olive and fruit trees that fed us during my childhood.
It is a quiet, magical place that overlooks cape Kefali and the famous Kolopoulos Bay where every August the fishermen of Meganisi would fish thousands of small tuna fish. A nomadic fish that, together with olive oil kept households afloat during the years of great poverty after the war of 1940.
Today everything is different. A beautiful holiday accommodation right next to vivid memories of a past generation.”
